About the Founder
Founder, Owner & Operator
I am the founder, owner, and planned operator of Okie Dokie Storage. I am building the company with a long-term mindset and with the expectation that I will remain directly involved in the decisions that shape it.

About Me
My career has been built around solving problems, supporting customers and teams, and helping complex work move from an idea toward a practical result. I tend to look at how the pieces connect rather than treating each decision in isolation.
That perspective shapes how I approach ownership. I believe a business owner should understand the company they are building, take responsibility for the decisions being made, and keep learning as the business changes.
Professional Background
Over more than 20 years, my work has spanned customer service, business analysis, project management, technology, process improvement, and strategic planning. A consistent customer-service focus has reinforced the importance of listening, communicating clearly, following through, and understanding how decisions affect the people being served.
I am a U.S. Navy veteran. That experience reinforced dedication, accountability, teamwork, and staying composed under pressure—qualities that continue to shape how I work today.
Across my career, I have worked in environments where requirements must be understood, risks identified early, priorities balanced, and different groups brought together around a common objective. I am comfortable working through uncertainty and bringing in deeper expertise when needed.
How I Think & Work
I am methodical by nature. Before making a major decision, I want to understand the assumptions behind it, the alternatives available, the risks involved, and the possible long-term consequences.
When something does not work as expected, my first instinct is to understand why. I tend to approach problems through research, root-cause analysis, and comparison of available options rather than reacting to the first explanation or solution presented.
That does not mean every decision needs to become complicated. It means important decisions deserve the appropriate amount of thought, and simple solutions are often best when they are supported by a clear understanding of the problem.
“My role is not to know everything. My role is to understand the objective, bring the right people together, ask the right questions, and make responsible decisions with the information available.”
Why Ownership
Over time, I wanted the opportunity to apply the skills I had developed throughout my career to something I could build. I wanted to take the planning, problem-solving, technology, process, and long-term thinking that had been part of my professional work and use them to create a company of my own.
Ownership appeals to me because the results ultimately come back to the decisions I make and the standards I establish. It creates the opportunity to build something intentionally, improve it over time, and create value that is not limited to a single project or a single year.
I want to build a durable business that improves with experience. That mindset shapes how I approach Okie Dokie Storage and the people I choose to work with.
My Role as Founder & Owner
As founder, I stay close enough to the business to understand important decisions while relying on qualified professionals when deeper expertise is needed.
I want to understand the decisions being made, the reasons behind them, and the effect those decisions may have on the business later. At the same time, I want qualified professionals to challenge my assumptions when their experience tells them there is a better approach.
For me, leadership is not about having the answer before everyone else. It is about creating clarity, accepting responsibility, making informed decisions, and continuing to move the organization toward its objective.
Understand the decisions that matter and the reasons behind them.
Rely on qualified professionals and invite better ideas when experience supports them.
Create clarity, make informed decisions, and keep the organization moving forward.
What I Expect From the People I Work With
I value straightforward communication.
If there is a problem, I would rather know about it early. If there is a better way to accomplish something, I want to hear it. If one of my assumptions is wrong, I want someone with the experience to tell me why.
I am not looking for vendors, contractors, advisors, or partners who simply agree with everything I say. I am looking for professionals who take pride in their work, communicate clearly, and are willing to contribute their expertise when it can improve the outcome.
In return, I want the people working with me and with Okie Dokie Storage to understand what we are trying to accomplish, know what is expected of them, understand why major decisions are being made, and be treated fairly and professionally.
Whenever it makes sense, I prefer relationships that can continue beyond a single transaction. Good businesses are built by people who trust one another, communicate directly, and consistently do what they say they will do.
